Zephyr, a San Diego-based real estate development company, has broken ground on a 168-unit condo community in Dana Point, marking its first push into Orange County.
Slated for a 2019 completion, pre-sales begin in early spring 2017 and models will open in late summer 2017.
The company acquired the nine-acre parcel, located at Del Obispo and Pacific Coast Highway, for $50 million in June 2015.
South Cove will feature three home models, ranging from one to three bedrooms, with 883 to 2,341 square feet, according to Zephyr CEO Chris Beucler.
Ten residences will include live/work space with commercial opportunities on PCH and 17 of the homes will be offered as affordable housing.
All homes will have attached garages. Some of the residences will have indoor/outdoor floor plans, balconies, porches, rooftop decks, and options for beach rinses and dens. Amenities include a swimming pool with cabanas and common areas throughout the community.
