According to the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development as of 2015, the homeless population in San Diego city and county became the fourth largest in the country. As a San Diego developer who is committed to improving their community, Zephyr partnered with a local nonprofit, Doors of Change, to end to youth homelessness. Zephyr employees volunteer at local events to help bring awareness to this heartbreaking issue.
Zephyr’s Co-CEO Brad Termini said, “Zephyr was looking to support an organization that makes a direct, positive impact in the community. Our staff regularly participates in the organization’s weekly outreach program in Ocean Beach, and it’s gratifying to see the progress being made in the lives of these young people we meet.”
Doors of Change – formerly known as Photocharity – which is a San Diego nonprofit organization committed to solving youth homelessness through empowerment and self-sufficiency, safe housing, life skills, education and training, and support services. Launched in 2001, the organization has helped place more than 1,800 homeless youth in long-term safe housing, and served more than 2,800 through its Taking Music & Art to the Streets program, which builds trust and skills by providing music and art classes, and offering food, clothing, instruments and art supplies to participants.
